Music: choosing, crediting and licensing

Key idea: Choose music you are licensed to play, credit the people who made it, and use Pungra’s own music with The Music Licence.

Licensing

Music played in a class is licensed separately from music you listen to at home. You need a music licence that covers the tracks and the setting where you teach. Check what yours covers before every new venue.

Pungra’s own music

The Music page has our created music and a playlist of popular Punjabi music. All instructors require The Music Licence to use Pungra’s music.

Crediting

Tell your class who made a track. Keep a playlist with titles and artists, and share it. Crediting costs nothing and sends people towards the artists.

Choosing tracks

  • A clear beat that people can find and follow.
  • A tempo that suits the part of the class.
  • Lyrics and content suitable for a mixed room, including families.
  • Music you are licensed to play.
